Admission to the Lapis Museum takes you into the Basilica of Pietrasanta, now transformed into a museum. Ancient Greco-Roman cisterns are enhanced with light and water installations, giving the subterranean waterways a distinctive visual setting. The “Submerged Decumanus” adds another historical layer: this underground pathway retraces part of the space used as a shelter during the Second World War. The visit connects ancient infrastructure with the more recent use of the city’s underground spaces.
Seven centuries of treasures at San Gennaro
The Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro brings together treasures collected over seven centuries, with contributions from popes, kings, celebrated Neapolitans and ordinary people.
