Climb the Old Town Bridge Tower
Start with the Old Town Bridge Tower, built in the late 1300s by Petr Parléř during the reign of Charles IV. Conceived as a victory arch, it brings a specific piece of Prague’s architectural history into the visit. Climb the tower to look out over Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and rooftops across the city. From here, the bridge is part of a wider view: you can see its place within the surrounding cityscape, with the castle among the landmarks visible from above.
Explore the Lesser Town side
Then head to the Lesser Town Bridge Tower, which marks the entrance to the Malá Strana district. A smaller Romanesque tower stands beside it, adding another architectural element to this end of the crossing. Look closely at the tower’s design before taking in views of the Vltava River and the historic city center. This stop brings the river into focus and gives the second part of the visit its own setting.
