The Colosseum brings the scale of ancient Roman entertainment into sharp focus. Built to hold more than 50,000 spectators, this massive marble-and-limestone amphitheater hosted gladiator battles, hunts and executions. Its surviving structure, despite earthquakes and centuries of scavenging, makes the power of Rome’s emperors tangible.
Three ancient sites with one ticket
Your ticket includes entry to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. The visit follows a route through places with distinct roles in ancient Rome: public life at the Forum, imperial residences on the hill and entertainment at the amphitheater. Access to the Colosseum Underground and Arena Floor is not included, and the ancient-site visits do not include a guided tour.
Walk through the Roman Forum
Begin the archaeological part of your visit at the Roman Forum, once the center of Rome’s political, commercial and religious life. Walk through the site and see important landmarks, including the tomb of Julius Caesar. Here, the focus shifts from the spectacle of the amphitheater to the spaces where the city conducted its public affairs.
Explore the remains on Palatine Hill
Continue to Palatine Hill, traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Rome. Emperors and wealthy Roman families once lived here, and the remains of palaces and other ancient structures reveal its residential role. Set between the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus, the hill adds a different chapter to the visit before you head to the Colosseum.
A guided walk through central Rome
The ticket also includes a separate English-language guided city walking tour covering Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. This part of the experience provides historical context and information about the landmarks, extending the itinerary beyond the three archaeological sites.

Arrive at the Touristation Aracoeli office at 16 Piazza Aracoeli 15 minutes before your scheduled start. Assistance is included at the office, where you will watch the Ancient Rome multimedia video before continuing to the sites. Tickets are delivered instantly and can be presented on a smartphone.
