Additional Information & Description
Gaudí-Miró-Gomis: Deconstructed brings three creative perspectives together in Barcelona: Antoni Gaudí’s work, Joan Miró’s art and Joaquim Gomis’s photography. The exhibition looks beyond finished images and objects to examine how artworks are understood, interpreted and presented, giving materials and creative processes a place alongside the works themselves.
Original Miró works and Gomis photographs
See original works by Joan Miró, including sculptures and graphic pieces, alongside photographs by Joaquim Gomis. The photographs helped shape the modern view of Gaudí’s work, making them more than a visual record: they form part of how his legacy came to be understood. Bringing these photographs into the same exhibition as Miró’s works gives the display two distinct forms of expression to explore—physical artworks and photographic representations of architecture.
Art examined through contemporary tools
Contemporary reinterpretations use audiovisual displays, sound design, digital art and animation, as well as 3D scanning and generative AI. With contributions from Tomorrow Bureau, these tools analyze, reconstruct and present the artworks. The focus is on revealing their materials, structure and creative process, rather than simply showing another image of the finished piece. Sound and moving imagery sit alongside digital techniques, providing different approaches to understanding how the works are made and how they can be read anew.
