Walk through Isola dei Pescatori

The first stop is Isola dei Pescatori, the only Borromean Island inhabited year-round. Wander through its streets to see a lived-in island rather than simply viewing it from the boat. Its eateries give you a chance to pause for local dishes during your visit, making this stop a place to explore on foot and perhaps settle down for a meal.

Explore Isola Bella

Continue to Isola Bella, famous for its palace, scenic caves and Italian gardens. Ashore, explore the terraces, visit boutique stores or browse the craft market. These give the second stop a different focus, with places to walk and shop before the boat journey back. Entrance to Isola Bella’s Palace is not included in the boat ticket.

What the boat ticket covers

The ticket covers hop-on hop-off boat travel to the two Borromean Islands, with a multilingual captain on board. Audio-guide languages are English and Italian. The route connects the two island stops with Stresa, so the crossing itself forms part of the visit rather than serving only as transport to a single destination.

Allow for on-site costs

A landing fee of €0.50 per island is payable on-site, totalling €1 for the two stops. Food and drinks are not included, so any meal on Isola dei Pescatori is an additional expense. Hotel pickup and drop-off are also excluded; you will need to make your own way to the departure point.

Meet at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi for Lago Maggiore Boat Trips and arrive 10 minutes before departure. Tickets are delivered instantly, and smartphone tickets are accepted. Have your ticket available when you arrive for boarding.
