Playa Blanca’s protected bay gives this paddle boarding session a calm-water setting in Lanzarote. The 90-minute activity centres on learning at a manageable pace, with time to put the basics into practice on the water rather than heading straight out into open-ocean conditions.

Build your balance before paddling out

The paddle boarding class begins with a quick lesson on land. Your instructor takes you through the steps before you enter the water, then guides you as you get comfortable on the board. Once you are ready, you pick up your paddle and practise moving across the bay. The progression is gradual: start with instruction ashore, work on the basics afloat, and build familiarity with the board through practice. A live guide accompanies the activity, so the lesson is not limited to the briefing at the start.

Switch from the board to snorkeling

After learning the paddling basics, you can switch to snorkeling and look at the bay’s marine life up close. This adds an underwater part to the session, changing the focus from moving across the surface to seeing what lives beneath it. In good weather, there may also be a chance to head into the open ocean; that part depends on conditions.

Hotel transfers and equipment included

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, covering transport to and from the activity. Safety equipment and bottled water are also provided. These sit alongside the two water activities within the same session, rather than requiring a separate snorkeling excursion after your paddle boarding lesson.
